People have dozens of reasons which compels them to leave their homeland. It could be employment opportunities, education, conflicts or better lifestyle. However, wherever they go, they always carry their nation in their hearts. The love and the emotional connection between them and their nation never dies. It gets deeper as time passes.
You may find countless reasons to leave your grieving nation
But, would you stick to that one reason to stay?
Although there are numerous challenges and obstacles on the way
I urge you, do not leave but stay
Because there’s no one to listen a mother’s complain
To heal her shattered heart to some extent
I belong to a nation, where farmer paints the field with sweats of their hard work
Their restless hands create a beautiful piece of artwork
They toil in the fields, in rain and sunlight
However, the government completely ignores their plight
I belong to such nation, where poor remains poor till they reach the graveyard
And the rich are powerful enough to snatch the dreams of others
Where the youngsters are compelled to leave their own homes
In their arduous search for happiness, prosperity and freedom
I belong to a nation where there’s neither hope nor faith
Where its people have a nightmare every day
Where the knowledge is cheapest of all, can be exchanged for bribe
And justice is charged an exorbitant price which victim fails to buy
Where the common people plead, scream and cry to claim their basic rights
And disputes in the name of politics, religion and ethnicity is rife
In country like ours, people are drowned in the ocean of grief and scarcities
Where the voices remain unheard of those who’re in dire need
In every footstep, they have to suffer
And are haunted by the fear of harassment and torture
Where the people are deprived of basic amenities
Yet they haven’t lost their faith in humanity
I belong to a nation, where its people feel homeless in their own homes
Where their dreams and desires are badly torn
Where the burden of survival is much heavier than the mountain
Yet they seem strong enough to pull the life’s curtain
The nation which was once epitome of development and peace
Where humanity and compassion bloomed along with the flowering trees
The birthplace of Lord Buddha, the land of Mount Everest
And the home to bold Gurkha warriors who didn’t fear death
I belong to such nation, where mountains and rivers sing in harmony
It’s true that nature can heal our pain and agony
A country where rhododendrons blooms with a gracious smile
And the gushing waterfalls awakens the impure souls and minds
Therefore,
Despite of countless reason of leaving the grieving nation
Would you just stick to that one reason to stay?
Because, I swear
That one reason is enough to bring a remarkable change.
